Abstract
The Holy Metropolis of Fthiotida organises a series of anniversary events in honour and memory of the bicentenary of the 1821 Greek Revolution under the blessing and auspices of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. This talk on Odysseus Androutsos turns the spotlight on one of the greatest personalities of the Greek Revolution. The speakers present the action of the local hero Androutsos, his sacrifice and his tragic death while emphasising the contribution of the monasteries to the revolution, specifically the Monastery of the Transfiguration of the Saviour of Livanates, which was the base and refuge of the Rumeliot general Androutsou. At the end followed a theatrical event of the Primary School of Livanates entitled “From the secret to the online school”.
