Abstract
The Holy Metropolis of Fthiotida organizes a series of anniversary events of honor and memory for the 200 years since the Greek Revolution of 1821 under the blessing and auspices of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. The two speakers presented with facts the events of the Revolution. The first speaker presents the holocausts, that is, the sacrifices and acts of heroism, of people who sacrificed their lives in order not to surrender to the enemy, thus being an example for all. Indicatively, the speaker refers to the holocaust of Souli, Samothrace and Psara, the sacrifice in Zalongo and the unknown story of Despos Sehou or Botsi. After this historical retrospect, the second speaker refers to the heroes of the revolution who sacrificed themselves. Specifically, it presents information about Georgakis Olympios and Christos Kapsalis and the areas of Arkadi and Naoussa.
