Abstract
The Holy Metropolis of Fthiotida organises a series of anniversary events in honour and memory of the bicentenary of the 1821 Greek Revolution under the blessing and auspices of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. Amfikleia priest Diomidis Panagiotopoulos, with citizens of Amfikleia, young and old, and members of the Folklore Association and the Association of Youth of Amfikleia, in a very moving theatrical event, perform the Battle of Dadi, directed by Vicky Koukoutsidis, while narrated by the poet and teacher, Ioannis VBrettos. This was a decisive battle for the revolution in the eastern part of Greece, which took place on 1 November 1822 in the Monastery of Dadi, where Odysseas Androutsos and his men took refuge.
