Abstract
The Holy Metropolis of Fthiotida organises a series of anniversary events in honour and memory of the bicentenary of the 1821 Greek Revolution under the blessing and auspices of the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece. The central theme of this talk is the chiefs of Rumelia and specifically Odysseas Androutsos. The speaker analyses extensively the valuable contribution of Androutsos to the war and his action in Lokrida. Androutsos, the well-known chief, lived for years in Tithorea, formerly Velitsa, in a cave on Mount Parnassos, which he used as his refuge and stronghold.
