Abstract
As part of a series of events marking the bicentenary of the 1821 Revolution, the Municipality of Hydra hosts an online academic conference on “Investigating the Possibility of Establishing March 27 as the Starting Day of the Revolution in Hydra”. The objectives of the event are to investigate the possibility of establishing 27 March 1821, when Antonis Oikonomos’ movement emerged, as the date of the declaration of the revolution in Hydra and to highlight the role and sacrifice of Oikonomos, the Hydriots and the island’s crews.
