Abstract
The Federation of Hellenic Societies of Greater New York hosts three online events entitled: "1821-2021. The Revolution Continues", "Strengthening the Olympic Spirit in Hellenism and the World", Bicentennial Celebration of 1821". The third event of the Federation of Greek Associations of Greater New York was held at Athens Square Park in Astoria. Students of the day and aSchool of St. Demetrius Astoria, the Demetrius and Georgia Kaloidis Day School of Holy Cross Brooklyn and the Academy of Greek Education in Astoria, dressed in traditional costumes from all over Greece, recited poems, delivered short speeches about 1821, sang anniversary songs and danced folk dances.
