Abstract

The Social and Cultural Affairs Welfare Foundation (KIKPE), in collaboration with the Contemporary Social History Archives (ASKI), organises the 2nd cycle of educational lectures as part of its celebration of the bicentenary of the 1821 Revolution entitled “The legacies of 1821: The persons and the ideas”. The intention of the series of lectures is to study the major issues raised by the revolutionary process of the 1820s and their evolution in the post-revolutionary years. The focus will be not only on the issues but also the paths of those who participated in the revolution and then staffed the newly established state. In this direction, the different approaches of the presenters, from the fields of history, philology and law, aim at a more complete and comprehensive understanding of a complex reality.
