Abstract
A 5th grade teacher and her students studied and presented life in the city of Athens under Ottoman rule. With texts composed by both the students and the teacher and with images chosen by the former, they describe the landscape of the city, the groups that made up its inhabitants, their activities, professions and clothing, the family, marriage customs as well as the position of women, their modes of entertainment, the education, the diet and the dwellings. The presentation is enriched by links from museum and collection websites with audio-visual material and games, as well as the children’s artistic creations.
