Abstract
For the needs of the National Historical Museum’s educational programme “Musical journey through the years of the struggle”, digital material was created that comes to life through images, artefacts and stories of fighters, the musical instruments, songs and dances of the time. The videos present musical instruments from the time of the struggle with an emphasis on the Makrygiannis tambouras, the feast held by the fighters on Holy Saturday 1822 through the military memorabilia of the fighter Nikolaos Kasomoulis and dance scenes of the Greeks of Constantinople, Paros, and Athens designed by foreign travellers of the 19th century. The material can be used independently in the classroom as well as during the students’ visit to the museum.
