Abstract
The Regional Directorate of Primary and Secondary Education of Thessaly created a website on the occasion of the bicentenary of the 1821 Greek Revolution with the aim of highlighting its historical importance and the legacy it leaves for the future of the country. The information presented here is a product of cooperation with the Regional Centre for Educational Planning of Thessaly, the Directorates of Primary and Secondary Education of the Regional Units of Karditsa, Larissa, Magnesia and Trikala, as well as the Environmental Education Centres of Kissavos–Elassona, Makrinitsa, Mouzaki and Pertouli, Trikala, the teachers and students of the Regional Directorate of Thessaly. Its name, “200 years of the past; a resource for the future”, reflects the philosophy of the actions being organised to highlight the legacies left by the 1821 Revolution for the future.
