Abstract
Talk by His Eminence Panteleimonos, Metropolitan of Veria, Naoussa and Kampania, within the framework of the series of talks on “Blood of Martyrs and Heroes” marking the bicentenary of the 1821 Greek Revolution. The ninth talk is entitled “The New Martyrs of Naoussa”. The heroic and martyr city of Naoussa offered the largest number of new martyrs who, during the siege of the city, died a horrible death in the area of Kioski. These are 1,241 new martyrs, with the first Abbot Gerasimos, who testified for the faith of Christ and are honoured on the Sunday of Saint Thomas.
