Abstract
Talk by His Eminence Panteleimonos, Metropolitan of Veria, Naoussa and Kampania, within the framework of the series of talks on “Blood of Martyrs and Heroes” marking the bicentenary of the 1821 Greek Revolution. The 11th talk is dedicated to the Macedonian fighter and leader Tassos Karatasos, a prominent figure of the revolution who gave everything for the freedom of his homeland, something that is testified by his personal contribution and the martyrdom of his family. The metropolitan provides information about his life, his family and his work, first as a boatman, member of the Philiki Etaireia and finally as the commander-in-chief of the Macedonian army.
