Abstract
From the mfa.gr website: "The exhibition “Athens–Munich: Architectural influences” presents photos and information about the buildings of Athens, built during the reign of Otto and the buildings of Munich in the time of Ludwig I that transformed the city into the “Athens of the Isar”. Leo von Klenze, Friedrich von Gärtner and other, lesser-known – but equally important – architects changed the image of the two cities and contributed to the close architectural relationship between them. The aim of the exhibition is to highlight the historical event of the Greek Revolution through the presentation of the residential development of Athens in the 19th century, as well as the strengthening of the long-standing and special relationship between Greece and Bavaria".
