Krystallia Markaki is a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of History and Ethnology of the Democritus University of Thrace and a member of the Laboratory for Modern and Contemporary History of the same university. She holds a BA in history and archaeology from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and an MA and a PhD from the Department of Political Science and History of Panteion University, Athens (where she was funded by the State Scholarships Foundation). Her research interests include historical culture, refugeeness, gender, tradition and aesthetics, childhood historicity, and public history.
