Konstantina Tortomani is a PhD candidate in modern and contemporary European history at the Department of History and Ethnology of the Democritus University of Thrace. She received her BA in history and archaeology from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and her MA in the history and culture of the Black Sea region from the International Hellenic University. Her PhD thesis was funded by the Hellenic Foundation for Research and Innovation. She has published two papers (“A Balkan Gothic: Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’ and the Balkan Identity,” Balkan Studies 49 [2014] and ‘“Asia begins at the Landstrasse’: The Orientalist Depiction of Austria-Hungary in Nineteenth-century British Travel Literature,” Ereisma 1 [2020]). In addition, she has participated in international and local conferences. From 2015 to 2017 she worked as an external contributor to two academic bibliographic databases: the International Bibliography of Humanism and the Renaissance (IBHR) and International Medieval Bibliography (University of Leeds).
