Damian Mac Con Uladh holds a BA in history and German from the National University of Ireland (NUI) Galway and an MA in history from the same university. In 2005 he received his PhD from University College London, where he completed a thesis on foreign workers and students in East Germany from 1949 to 1990. In 2004, he moved to Greece, where he has worked as a journalist and editor with the Athens News, Eleftherotypia and The Irish Times. He is the language editor of Historein and the Historical Review/La Revue Historique.
