Periklis Chrysafakoglou is a PhD candidate in the Department of History and Ethnology of the Democritus University of Thrace. In 2014 he graduated from the same department with a specialisation in ethnology and in 2019 completed a postgraduate programme in prehistoric archaeology at the Department of History and Archaeology of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. During his postgraduate studies, he studied the application and use of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) in archaeology. His research focuses on the study of Neolithic settlements in the Thracian landscape and the material culture associated with them. He has participated in various archaeological projects, both in excavations and surface research, in northern Greece, the southern Aegean and Serbia.
