Kyriakos Sgouropoulos

Kyriakos SgouropoulosKyriakos Sgouropoulos is a graduate of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Democritus University of Thrace, earning his BA in 2002, MA in 2005 and PhD in 2014 for this thesis on “Development of techniques for vision based hand gesture recognition”. Until 2016, he taught computer science/informatics at elementary and secondary level. Since 2017, he has been a member of the Laboratory teaching staff at the Department of History and Ethnology of the Democritus University of Thrace. He has also taught in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, in the School of Pedagogical and Technological Education and in the National Centre for Public Administration. His research interests focus on pattern recognition, human computer interaction and the application of computers in humanities. In addition, through his participation in research projects, he has engaged with web development and mobile applications.
